Grade X42 Pipe ERW

API 5L X42 pipe is used as line pipe of oil or gas transmission. Grade X42 is higher than GR B, with more strict requirements in chemical and mechanical properties.

Chemical property:

X42 grade steel, the C content max. 0.26%; Mn content max. 1.3%; P content max. 0.03%; S content max. 0.03.

Mechanical property:

Grade X42 pipe require min. 290 Mpa yield strength and min 415 Mpa tensile strength.

Other than the above properties are more strict. Grade X42 steel pipe requires hydro test, flattening test, UT test etc to ensure the mechanical properties are qualified as per API 5L.
